L-Ergothioneine（EGT）

Ergothioneine (L-Ergothioneine, EGT) is a rare natural chiral amino acid. Ergothioneine is primarily derived from plants such as mushrooms, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, and certain bacteria. It cannot be synthesized by the animal body itself and can only be obtained from food, accumulating in tissues and cells.

Since its discovery in animal organs and tissues, scientists have conducted extensive research. They have found that ergothioneine can effectively scavenge free radicals that cause skin aging, protect cell membranes and mitochondrial membranes from oxidative damage, shield cells, and provide resistance against UV radiation, among other functions. Consequently, it holds broad application prospects in industries such as food, cosmetics, functional foods, and biomedicine.
